Resurfacing starts on A706 next week
Published: Friday 4 September 2026
Resurfacing works are to take place on the A706 Lanark between Linthill and Jerviswood Mains from next week.
The section of road will be closed from Monday 7 September for up to five days.
A diversion will be in place via: A706, A721, A70, A743 and vice-versa.
Colin Park, the council’s Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause.
“We would ask all road users to allow additional time for their journeys during this period and plan accordingly.
“I know everyone who uses this road will see a benefit in the improved condition of the surface as a result of the works.”
